Rockhampton Basketball are pleased to announce that Kon Anguik is returning for a second season with the Schwarz Excavations Rockhampton Rockets for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season. After a frustrating season personally for Anguik due to injury, the club is expecting big things from a fit and fully recovered Anguik and believe he is a major piece in their quest to be competing for a NBL1 North title.
Anguik said on re-signing, “I’m really excited to come back and play for Rockhampton again for a number of reasons. I love the team and atmosphere at our home court from our fans and secondly to make up for what was a disappointing season last year, with disruptions to the group through injury and Covid restrictions. I am looking forward to getting up to Rockhampton and working with the boys in preseason to prepare for what will be an extremely competitive competition.”
Coach Neal Tweedy said, “We always wanted to bring Kon back to the team this season and believe he has a lot to offer our program. He had an extremely difficult last season due to injury. However, we believe with his versatility, we can use him in many different situations both offensively and defensively in 2022. I am extremely happy that he decided to sign with the club.”
Welcome back Kon!
