Rockets Make First Signing for 2022 NBL1 North Roster

The Schwarz Excavations Rockhampton Rockets have made their first signing for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season and happy to announce that Kai Woodfall has committed to the club. After a season with the South West Metro Pirates in 2021, Woodfall will join the Rockets early next year and is looking forward to a big year ahead. Woodfall averaged 21 points per game during the 2021 season and collected the Pirates MVP award for the year.

Schwarz Excavations Rockets Head Coach, Neal Tweedy said, “We are extremely happy to have Kai on board for 2022. He is a quality guard that can play either the shooting guard or point guard position and we believe he will be a focal point for the Rockets in the 2022 season. Kai had an extremely successful season last year and has had a great college career and he is a player that shoots the ball extremely well from the perimeter but can also create for his teammates and lead a team around the floor from the point guard position.

We believe Kai is going to add a lot to our group, both in terms of production on the court, as well as leadership on and off the court. This signing is a huge 1st step in the right direction for our program” he said.

Woodfall said on signing with the Rockets, ““I’m really excited to be on board with the Rockets for the upcoming season. Both the club and Coach Tweedy have a winning history and that’s something I look forward to being a part of next season while we compete for an NBL1 Championship.

I loved the energy that the Rockhampton fans brought to the home games last season and can’t wait to get out and represent them on court in 2022!”
