The Schwarz Excavations Rockhampton Rockets have finalised their roster with the signing of Perth Wildcats small forward, Todd Blanchfield. In a huge coup for the club, Blanchfield will join the Rockets after his commitments are finished with the Perth Wildcats in the current NBL season. The Wildcats are currently sitting in 3rd spot on the NBL ladder.
Blanchfield said on signing with the club, “I am super excited about joining the Rockets for the 2022 season and after being unable to compete in 2020 for the Rockets when the season was cancelled due to Covid, I am really looking forward to playing in front of the Rockhampton fans. I believe we have assembled a strong roster and think that we will be extremely competitive this season.
Rockets head coach Neal Tweedy said, “Todd will bring several qualities to the team this year. His ability to play multiple positions in the NBL1 is a great asset for the team and he can defend many different positions on the floor giving us the opportunity to throw different line ups at the opposition. Todd shoots the ball at extremely good clip from the 3-point line and can put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He will be a headache for teams in the league this year and could cause some major matchup problems. The club is extremely excited about bringing a player of Todd’s experience to the group and we can’t wait for his arrival once his NBL commitment are completed.
