The CQ University Cyclones are proud to announce that both Tai Wakelin Gray and Tabitha Allen have committed to the Rockhampton Cyclones for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season. Both players will add great depth to the Cyclones roster and are keen at what lies ahead in 2022.
General Manager Wade Rebetzke said of the signings. “Tai was given an increased role in 2021 and is often tasked with the tough defensive assignments each night and what we like about Tai is she gives 100% every time she hits the floor and will play whatever role the team required to ensure success. We are really looking forward to Tai continuing to develop her game as she did in 2021 and she will be a vital piece in the 2022 roster.”
Rebetzke added, “Allen had her first season with the Cyclones in 2021 and feels she is much better equipped to start the 2022 season. Tab has worked tirelessly in the off season to become more mobile up and down the floor and be able to provide that back up for Lara McSpadden on a more consistent basis this season. We are really looking forward to seeing Tab continue to grow as a player and she will get that opportunity training against WNBL and overseas talent every week at practice. This is an exciting opportunity for her.”
The NBL1 season kicks off in April.
